Block-printing is one of the old crafts and is thought ancient textile art in existence. Five thousand years ago, craftsmen carved intricate patterns into teakwood blocks, these would then be soaked in olive oil for ten days, dried in the sun, and then pressed onto vibrant, dyed cloth in complex designs.
